Miguna Miguna In Court Seeking Arrest Of Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has filed a case in court seeking to have Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo committed to a six-month civil jail term for disobeying court orders directing that he comes back into the country. In a petition filed through lawyer Adrian Kamotho Njenga, Miguna claims that the actions by Omamo are in bad faith, adding that apart from the civil jail, the CS together with the State should be ordered to compensate him "Pending hearing and determination of his application an order be and is hereby issued directing Raychelle Omamo to immediately purge the contempt and enable Miguna to obtain his emergency travel document from the Kenya High Commission Ottawa or the Kenya High commission Berlin as was ordered by court in November 22 last year," reads court papers He is also seeking orders restraining any officer or person from obstructing, hindering or interfering with the arrest of Omamo. Citzen Tv Truck attacked

A Citizen TV pick-up truck was on Sunday pelted with stones by rowdy youth while covering Deputy President William Ruto’s rally in Jacaranda Grounds in Pipeline, Nairobi. According to reporters who were aboard the truck, the vehicle was among several others that bore the brunt of Sunday's rally mayhem as it snaked its way from the chaos.  The chaotic rally was momentarily halted after a rival group opposed to the gathering raided the venue and started pelting attendees with stones. Several videos showed police officers lobbing teargas to disperse the crowd that had gathered at the venue as scores of people in the audience fled from the dais where the second in command was.  Amid the disarray, DP Ruto said if elected president, his government would do away with the culture of throwing stones.  The situation appeared to have been contained until the DP finished speaking and it was time to leave the grounds. Power blackouts across the country

Kenya Power says the power outages which have been witnessed across the country are due to the collapse of key towers at the Kiambere-Embakasi transmission line. The electricity utility company, in a statement on Tuesday, said the power line was disrupted on Tuesday morning. “We have lost power supply due to collapsed towers on the Kiambere - Embakasi high voltage transmission power line at 10.45 am this morning,” said Kenya Power.  The company further stated that it is working to restore supply. “Our engineers are working to restore electricity supply as the repairs are being undertaken. An update on the restoration progress will be issued in due course,” added the statement.

Decrease of condom sales Globally

Goh Miah, CEO of the world’s largest condom maker Karex has revealed that condom sales have declined in the past two years due to Covid-19 restrictions. Speaking in an interview with Nikkei Asia, Goh Miah said condom sales have decreased by as much as 40 percent since the start of the pandemic, in 2020. Karex is the largest condom manufacturer worldwide with a production record of 5.5 billion condoms annually while operating in 140 countries and its only competitor Thai Nippon Rubber produces 2 billion. According to Goh, the pandemic, which led to the closure of many secluded places such as restaurants, hotels and motels, contributed to a decline in intimacy. Goh further believes that the governments has also contributed to the decline of condom use because of its suspension of condom handouts due to covid restrictions in most countries.

UDA’s Apology On Linturi’s ‘Madoadoa’ Remarks Is Superficial

Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga has dismissed the United Democratic Alliance’s (UDA) rebuke of Meru Senator Mithika Linturi’s contentious remarks at Saturday’s rally as half-hearted and superficial. Wanga claims that the Deputy President William Ruto-led camp does not really regret Linturi’s utterances, terming their Monday apology as a weak attempt to save face following uproar from Kenyans. “After uproar from Kenyans, (UDA) have come to apologize for what Senator Linturi said, yet they were seated at the very same rally. Nobody, after Linturi spoke, bothered to come up and say what Linturi said is not in line we believe in, the rally went on,” Wanga told Citizen TV on Tuesday during the Day Break show.
